Prayers go out to the Stanton and Reynold's families

Cpl. Jordan R. Stanton, 20, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., died March 4 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan


Jordan is the son of Joyce Reynolds and Robert Stanton, (both FVHS Alumni)  Nephew of Glenn Stanton (Cox, FVHS 82) ,Jenny Reynolds (FVHS 82) and Jim Reynolds (FVHS 85)

Stanton, 20, joined the Marine Corps in 2008. He attended boot camp and was stationed out of Camp Pendleton, according to his uncle, Nick Stanton. Jordan Stanton was promoted to corporal on July 1, 2010, and became an assistant team leader assigned to the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Stanton was deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom in November. He has been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Prayers go out to Heidi Elbel Jimenez and family. 

Joey Jimenez was the 17 year old son of our friend and classmate, Heidi Elbel Jimenez. His death on October 27, 2010, was a sudden and tragic loss which has left the family devastated.

The loss of a child is beyond words or understanding.
